China's Naval Landing Forces Air Force has showcased its latest helicopter the Harbin Z-20J Assault Transport Helicopter, a naval utility/transport variant, at the 15th Air show China 2024 in Zhuhai City, south China's Guangdong Province.
It has been developed for carrier-based transport and is very similar in design to the MH60R. The Z-20J is capable of mounting weapon systems on both stub wings and will be operated as a shipborne helicopter by the Chinese Naval Landing Forces Air Force, the Chinese equivalent of the Marine Corps.
The Z-20J is clearly resemblances the MH60R Seahawk, in the 1980s China acquired a number of S-70/UH-60 Black Hawks, but is believed to be
powered by the domestic
WZ-10 turboshaft engine providing 1,600 kW (2,100 shp) of power.
