Czechia based LOM PRAHA will continue to provide the Air Force of the Army of the Czech Republic with the services necessary for the continued operation of Mi-17 until the end of 2031.
At its Kbelsk Aircraft Plant, general repairs of the airframe, engines and other prescribed work will be carried out on Mi-8/17/171 to extend the life of the aircraft. The life cycle support of the fleet is now contractually agreed until 2031, with the prospect of maintaining their operability until 2035.
The “Seventeens” or “Stosedmdesátjediníčky” will continue to fly both in the Czech Republic and abroad. The overhaul and modernization of the Mil aircraft within the European Union is a great opportunity for LOM PRAHA to utilize its know-how in the field of servicing and repairing this series of helicopters in the coming years.
It is one of the last companies in Europe capable of carrying out this repair work and will bring further contracts to the Czech Republic in the future. LOM PRAHA has already carried out the modernization of a Mi-8MT of the Air Force of the Republic of North Macedonia and the general repair and renovation of the interior of the presidential Mi-8 from Bulgaria.
