SPAES has announced the successful approval of Night Vision Imaging System filters in an AS332.
The project was carried out in SPAES own EASA Part 21J Design Organization, with the designation of a "Minor Change." The installation of the filters was done by the Part 145 Maintenance Organisation in their own maintenance hangar. The readability of the instruments was checked during a ground test by day and night. The Minor Change was performed to ensure that the helicopter's VFR certification would remain valid during the installation process until the STC approval for NVIS operation is completed.
“The successful installation of NVIS filters in the AS 332 helicopter underscores our commitment to elevating aviation safety without compromising regulatory standards," commented Joachim Schanz, CEO of SPAES.
