The Bristow Ireland team operating aviation support on behalf of the Irish Coast Guard successfully completed its very first AW189 tasking.
Shortly before 3pm the Shannon-based crew was tasked to reports of an injured walker near Carrigeen Mountain, County Limerick, Ireland.
The new AW189 crew flew to the scene, arriving just a short time later and the casualty was swiftly located and the winchman was lowered to
the ground to assess their condition. An injury meant the walker required hospital attention so the team winched them on board the aircraft
before flying directly to Limerick hospital for handover to waiting medical staff.
