The Nuremberg DRF Luftrettung station has now switched to the five blade rotor H145, replacing their EC135.
The Nuremberg station is home to two H145s with Christoph 27 operating in the primary air rescue role from 7 am to sunset and can reach locations within a radius of 60 kilometers within a maximum of 15 minutes. The second aircraft is for secondary intensive care transport helicopter (ITH) operated as Christoph Nürnberg, this H145 is also fitted with a winch.
The first five-blade rotor H145 was converted at the DRF in-house maintenance team in December 2020. Since then, DRF has continuously added more H145s with five-blade rotors to its fleet with Nuremberg its 15th station to receive a machine of this type.
