Libyan Air Ambulance has taken delivery of two new Bell 429 helicopters configured for medevac operations, according to Africair – the Bell independent representative and Textron Aviation distributor.

“Africair, Inc., along with our partner United Libyan Systems, is proud to continue our support of Libyan Air Ambulance and their mission to save lives,” said Sanjiv Birsen, regional manager of International Product Support and Sales at the distributor.

Established in 1979, Libyan Air Ambulance is said to be the country’s leading medical evacuation service. The organization provides patient transport services throughout Libya and internationally. Operating both fixed wing and rotary aircraft the group’s helicopter fleet includes: Bell 412, Augusta AW109, EC135 and EC145 aircraft together with the AS 365 Dauphin.

Africair is Bell’s independent representative for 40 countries in Africa. It also said to be the world’s Textron Aviation distributor operating as the manufacturer’s authorized sales representative in 46 countries.
