MD Helicopters (MDH), APSCON Booth 746, will highlight its upgrade programs strengthening airborne public safety sector support at APSCON 2024 in Houston, Texas, July 29 to August 3, 2024.

"We know our public safety customers rely on MD to provide rapid and reliable support and that remains a top priority as we build and grow," said MD Helicopters President Ryan Weeks. “We have significantly improved aftermarket support over the past two years. We look forward to sharing this progress and further plans at the show like our E to F Conversion Kit upgrades.”

Booth Activities

The MDH team will highlight its Fielded Fleet Upgrade Program at APSCON while also taking orders for E-to-F Conversion Kits. The Fielded Fleet Upgrade program delivers more power, increased utility, and improved performance through cost-effective performance enhancing airframe modifications for a variety of MD models. These modifications can include longer main and tail rotor blades, tailboom extension, longer tail rotor drive shafts, new main rotor gearboxes, and/or engine upgrades, depending on the model.

The Fielded Fleet Upgrade Program includes the E-to-F Conversion, which converts an MD 500E into an MD 530F for less than half cost of a new helicopter. The program also includes three additional upgrades expected to receive FAA certification in 2025: the MD 520N to an MD 530N, also called the Super N, the MD 500D to a MD 500 Super D Upgrade, and the MD 500E to a MD 500 Super E Upgrade that includes F-model blades, tail rotor gearbox extension, and new vertical and horizontal stabilizers.

The E-to-F Conversion is available at several MD Authorized Upgrade Centers. Upcoming upgrades will be available at all MD Authorized Service Centers, which is expected to improve availability and reduce prices.
